Homestead residents will soon have a convenient opportunity to take care of essential Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) transactions without the long lines and extended wait times often associated with traditional offices. The Florida Licensing on Wheels (FLOW) mobile DMV bus is returning to the City of Homestead later this month, bringing critical motorist services directly to the community.
The City of Homestead, in partnership with Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez, will host the mobile unit on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the William F. Dickinson Community Center, located at 1601 North Krome Avenue.
Designed to improve access and efficiency, the FLOW mobile bus allows residents to complete many DMV-related tasks in one location, saving time and reducing stress. City officials encourage community members to take advantage of this service as a practical alternative to visiting a full-service DMV office. Please note that driving tests will not be offered during this event.
A wide range of services will be available, including driver’s license renewals, first-time licenses, conversions of out-of-state licenses, replacements for lost or stolen licenses, address or name changes, and state identification cards. Residents will also be able to complete vehicle registration renewals, request driver’s license reinstatements (fees vary), and obtain or renew disabled parking placards. Some services, such as emergency contact information registration and poverty letters, are offered at no cost.
Service fees vary depending on the transaction. Standard Class E license services, including renewals and first-time licenses, are $48, while replacements and information updates cost $25. Permanent disabled parking placards are free, while temporary placards carry a $15 fee.
To ensure smooth service, residents must bring the required documentation, including proof of identity (such as a U.S. birth certificate or valid U.S. passport), proof of Social Security number, and two different proofs of address. Payments will be accepted by cash, credit card, or check.
