The City of Homestead is proud to announce that the absolute moratorium on Pump Station #22 (PS-22), a critical infrastructure within the City, has officially been lifted. As of April 21, 2025, the Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER/DERM) concluded its review and determined that the City has satisfactorily met all agreed-upon conditions to transition PS-22 from “absolute moratorium” to “OK” status. A new study from Upgraded Points has identified the U.S. locations with the largest average tax refunds. Over the past 15 years, the average federal tax refund has generally remained in the range of $2,800 to $3,000, but the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted that pattern. During the 2020 filing season, the average refund dropped to $2,549, reflecting widespread job losses and reduced earnings early in the crisis. In the years that followed, refunds rebounded sharply.
